Edmonia Lewis challenged social barriers and assumptions about artists in mid-19th century America. The stamp art is a casein
paint portrait by Alex Bostic, based on a photograph macde in Boston between 1864 and 1871.
Showcased in a classic black frame, the piece also includes a clear dust cover, protective felt bumpers, and a sawtooth hanger on
the back tor easy display.
